Thrift Store Haul

Today mom and I went to the thrift store to see if I could find some fabric. However I found something’s that were way better. Not only did I get the fabric for $1.91, but I also got a bunch of yarn and 3 bead kits. I’m convinced that they see no value in craft items, which is perfect for a person like me.

I was able to get a bunch of glass beads in various colors, some findings, and a bunch of seed beads.

I haven’t an opened the fabric up yet but it looks like it might be about 2 yards of some kind of black knit.

This box is full of pastel colored yarn and it’s really thin. I’m thinking it’s for a baby blanket. It even came with three crochet hooks.

Okay, so the last thing that I got which was the best of all was this big bag of old yarn. They don’t even make yarn like this anymore! I’m going to have a lot of fun with this!

To top it all off, while going through the bag I found a very old Crosstitch pattern. At the bottom it says the “Metropolitan Museum of art 1975-Mazaltov”. The yarn or thread that’s needed for the Crosstitch was even included.

As excited as I was after finding the Crosstitch, it later hit me that I was actually going to have to complete it. Whoever bought it, started it and I guess gave up. It’s going to take me about two years but it should be worth the effort. I guess I should make a carrying bag for it because it’s going to go everywhere with me. Read more about it here to avoid a long drawn out post because I’m on my way there.

I’m off to craft! I’ll let you know how it goes.
